About

Edik Katykhin
Edik Katykhin is an artist and illustrator born in USSR in 1973.
He graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Arts, Department of Graphic Arts.
Before the war, he used to work in Ukraine as the art-director of the PLUSPLUS kids channel. Living in Switzerland since 2022, Edik has dived deeply into local and traditional arts of Switzerland. In his work, Edik gives life to a new world where comics, fairy tales characters and surealism merge together into whimsical yet very swiss vegetal and organic sceneries.
From large canvases to simple pieces of paper, everything is an excuse to draw all day long and often at night too, and to create amazing graphic worlds filled with plants, minerals and strange characters.
Edik is also working on his personal version of papercutting, mixing tradition with his own influences and style, using his keen perception and love for the swiss landscapes and nature.
Edik took part in many different exhibitions such as "Comics from the other half" (Stripdagen Haarlem), "Born in USSR" (Angouleme Comics Festival), Boomfest (Saint Petersburg) and also has experience of successful collaboration as an illustrator with different commercial clients such as Adidas, MTV, Ogilvy (Scrabble: The Beautiful Word).
His works can be found in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art and in many private collections around the world.
